Frequently Asked Questions
-
Before booking your appointment, please review the following to determine if you’re eligible for treatment. Your safety and results are our top priority.
Not Eligible (No Exceptions)
You are not a candidate for microblading if any of the following apply:
You are under 18 years old
You are pregnant or nursing
You have epilepsy
You have major heart conditions
You have viral infections and/or diseases
You have Lupus
You’ve had an organ transplant
You have any skin condition on or near the brow area (eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis)
You are allergic to metals or pigments
You are prone to keloid scarring
You are currently on Accutane (must be off for at least 6 months)
Other Considerations to Keep in Mind
These situations don’t necessarily make you ineligible, but they may affect timing or your overall experience:
Botox: It’s best to do microblading before Botox. If you’ve recently had Botox, wait 3 weeks before booking your brow appointment.
Raised skin (moles, piercings, bumps): We cannot work on raised areas directly.
Sunburn on brows: Wait until the skin has returned to its natural color and texture.
Retinol/Vitamin A: Discontinue use on the brow/forehead area at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
Lidocaine or Epinephrine Allergy: These are the most common numbing agents used. If allergic, the procedure can still be done without numbing, but may be more uncomfortable.
Latisse or brow serums: Discontinue use for a minimum of 2 weeks before your session.
-
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure beautiful, long-lasting results. Please follow the instructions below carefully for at least 7 days after your procedure. Not following these guidelines may lead to pigment loss, discoloration, or infection.
Immediate Aftercare
Avoid getting anything on the brows (including water), except when cleansing as instructed.
Gently blot brows with sterile gauze or a clean paper towel for the first few hours if excess fluid appears.
Cleansing Instructions
Night of the procedure: Gently cleanse brows using the provided cleanser.
Next morning: Repeat gentle cleanse using minimal water. Brows should never be saturated with water, keeping them as dry as possible helps them heal faster.
After 2 days: You may apply a very small amount of the provided ointment to relieve dryness.
Do not pick, scratch, or rub the brows. Flakes must fall off naturally to avoid pigment loss or scarring.
What to Avoid (First 7–30 Days)
No soaking the area in water (baths, pools, hot tubs).
Avoid swimming in saltwater or chlorinated pools, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms, or tanning beds for 30 days.
No strenuous exercise for 5 days. After that, use a sweatband to keep sweat off your brows.
Do not expose brows to direct sunlight. Once fully healed (after 30 days), use SPF to prevent fading.
No makeup or skincare directly on the brows during healing (about 2 weeks).
Avoid chemical peels or other facial treatments until brows are fully healed. These procedures should not be done within 6 weeks before or after microblading.
Healing Timeline: What to Expect
Day 1–3: Brows may appear bold or dark — this is normal.
Day 4–10: Brows may begin to flake or scab lightly. Do not pick.
Day 7–14: Some pigment may appear faded or “gone” due to healing skin. This is temporary.
Week 4–6: Final healed color begins to show through the skin, usually 30–50% lighter than initial result.
Touch-Up Appointment
A touch-up session (4–6 weeks post-procedure) is recommended to:
Perfect the shape
Reinforce pigment
Ensure the best, most long-lasting results
Important:
Failure to follow these aftercare guidelines can result in infection, pigment loss, or uneven healing. If giving blood soon after your procedure, inform your nurse about your recent microblading. -
To ensure the best possible results and a smooth procedure, please follow the guidelines below in the 48–72 hours leading up to your appointment.
Avoid the Following
Blood thinners (unless medically necessary): Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, niacin, vitamin C & E.
– Tylenol is safe to take if needed.Alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours before your appointment – these can increase bleeding and sensitivity.
Chemical exfoliants like Glycolic Acid, Retin-A, and AHAs – discontinue use at least 1 week prior.
Waxing the brow area within 24 hours of your appointment.
Recommended Prep
Lightly exfoliate your face (and lips if you're receiving a lip blush service), focusing especially on the forehead area, 2–3 days before your appointment.
Tweeze or trim excess brow hair if needed, but avoid waxing right before the appointment.
Feel free to come with your brows filled in the way you normally wear them.
Bring any inspiration photos of your desired brow look and I’ll do my best to match the shape and style.

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing that uses a handheld tool made of fine, sterile needles arranged in a row to mimic a blade. The tool is used to create realistic, hair-like strokes by depositing pigment into the top layer of the skin. This technique is ideal for achieving natural looking brows and requires both skill and artistry. Most clients can resume their regular activities immediately after the procedure.
-
Ombré Powder Brows are also a semi-permanent brow enhancement technique. Using a handheld machine and a sterile needle cartridge, tiny pigment pixels are deposited into the skin, creating a soft-shaded effect. The result is a gradient appearance: darker at the tail and gradually lighter toward the front of the brow. This method covers the full brow shape and is great for those who prefer a more filled in, makeup like look. Most clients can return to their usual routine right after the appointment.
-
These techniques are not permanent, but they are long lasting. On average, results last between 1–3 years, depending on several factors like skin type, lifestyle, overall health, hormone levels, and sun exposure. While some pigment may remain over time, regular touch-ups are recommended to maintain shape and color. Each client’s retention will vary.
-
Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but most clients experience little to no discomfort. A topical anesthetic is applied before and during the procedure to minimize any pain.
-
If you have oily or sensitive skin, microblading may not be the best option, as the strokes can heal softer or more blurred. Oily skin also tends to fade faster, requiring more frequent touch-ups. In these cases, Ombré Powder Brows are recommended for better pigment retention and cleaner healed results. Dry to normal skin types generally see the most precise microblading outcomes.
